Life is Good

bong hit

First hits from my new bong. This thing just makes me smile. And to think I’m going to Amsterdam in a month seems pretty unreal. I’ll be there for 10 days – by myself. I’ll be spending lots of time with the camera, lots of time smoking ungodly amounts of weed, and lots of time seeing a city that I could potentially live in. (The trip originated as a means to go check out potential grad schools.)

Anyway, I got this lovely lady at a head shop called the Village II that’s located right off the main drag of St. Marks Place on 2nd Ave. It doesn’t look like they have a website, but they have a great selection. I didn’t do any research before purchasing (unless you count the years spent smoking out of a variety of pieces), but I’ve been to a few shops in the village and this seemed to have the highest quality pieces that I’ve found as of yet.

However, the best selection is located across the pond. Can’t wait to see what I find over there.

A Very Belated Birthday Present

About a month and a half ago I was supposed to get 2 bongs for my birthday. One of them finally showed up today as a surprise shopping trip with my cousin. This was the result of that little extravaganza.

I’m amazed at how well it photographs – and hits 😀 It’s so pretty. I think I’m in love ❤

More later when I’m not so high 🙂

I Booked a Trip To Amsterdam.

Naturally, I had to celebrate with a bit of pot. Click on the images to view larger versions.

Philosophy, Catastrophe?

Those of you that I don’t know of my other posting spots, check out my blog, Loki Listens and my twitter.

It helps if you know where I’m coming from just a little. I often write about philosophy and religion. I consider myself a shaman of sorts, bringing back an old ideal for mankind to reconsider.

What it comes down to is this. I often smoke a joint or a bowl, meditate for a bit, and then begin writing the preliminary notes for what may become a post somewhere later. I know that some ideas are not good at all when sobriety comes around, which is why I throw them into a notebook(TomBoy Notes, actually), and sort through them the next day.

And let’s try for some community involvement again, that was nice. What do you think? Ever used marijuana shamanicly? Do you find your ideas are actually insightful, or, well, just pothead thoughts?

Jack.
Just a rant. who knows.

Love Pink

Pink Pot

I bought this little sucker in Union Square a few months ago. It’s good to use as an ashtray or putting your broken up weed in while you’re getting ready to light one up. Plus, it’s pink! The little wire hook is quite convenient since I tend to hang everything up. Lovely little purchase.

Above The Influence

As I’m sitting here watching TV, which happens on rare occasion, a commercial comes on about a boy and his guitar, and another boy and his car. It shows that these are their prided objects with some nice elevator music in the background. Then it shows the one boy put his guitar onto the grill and watch it burn, whilst the other boy douses his car in gasoline and lights it on fire. Then a voice over proceeds to explain that marijuana is what caused the destruction in each of these scenarios.

I understand they’re trying to tell us that pot makes us throw our lives away. In a sense, you do get a lot lazier when you smoke, but you smoke to relax and do it when you’re relaxing. Am I wrong? It’s better than drinking a case of beer, or eating until you pass out, both of which are considered culturally acceptable ways to release stress. And both which produce results that last much longer than a high (pot doesn’t give you a hangover, nor does it make you gain ten pounds… if you can control your munchies).

It just seems silly that the media, government, etc. are still trying to equate marijuana with unnatural, pharmaceutically rendered drugs. It seems to be pretty common knowledge these days that hemp has tons of good things to offer us. It can really only be a matter of time before it’s legal.

At any rate, my response to that commercial was to pick up my bowl and take a big ol’ hit.

Red and Green

Starbucks Christmas cups and a tin full of weed.  A little post-holiday cheer to stay warm.
